İzmir

İzmir
Izmir is the third largest city in Turkey and a centre of culture, arts, tourism and commerce. The Aegean Sea stretches along the western coast of the province with the elegance of lace, with bays and beautiful beaches in all colours of blue from navy blue to turquoise.
Izmir, with its 8500 years of history, is located at the beginning of a long and narrow gulf in the west of the Anatolian Peninsula. Herodotus, the famous historian of the Ancient Period, described the city with its typical Mediterranean climate thousands of years ago as follows "They built their cities in the most beautiful sky and the most beautiful climate we know on earth." He described it with the expression.

Ephesus lies to the south and Pergamon to the north of the city and was among the largest and most famous cities of Antiquity. These cities, which embodied the richness of the entire Ionian culture, also made a name for themselves with intense artistic, cultural, commercial and religious activities. The ancient cities of Ephesus and Pergamon, which are still world-renowned today, are fascinating centres of attraction for history enthusiasts. The birthplace of Homer, the master of poetry, Izmir is a blend of the rapidly changing history of Anatolia and the colourful history of the Aegean. As the modern face of modern Turkey opening to the west, the city continues to develop rapidly in the fields of culture, arts, tourism, trade and industry.
